Beograd u svetu / Belgrade around: Jelena Mančević

Verovatno star koliko i najstariji Beograđanin. Nema istorije. Ovde zgrade danas postoje, sutra ih već nema, jer trenutno nemaju nikakvu vrednost.

Is life there really better somewhere?

The difference between the city where I live now and Belgrade is enormous. First of all, Belgrade has a soul, a spirit that is always wide awake. This city is new. It is probably as old as the oldest Belgrade resident. There is no history. The buildings here are one day here, the next day they don't exist because they let's say, don't have any value at the moment.

The main reason for leaving Belgrade?

The reason why I left Belgrade is that I fell in love. Belgrade was my first love, but we have outgrown each other and didn't have anything else to offer to one another. I have convinced myself this is true.

Does any part of the city where you live remind you of Belgrade and why?

Not even one part of this city reminds me of Belgrade.

Ostavila bih stvari kakve jesu.

Would you rather move Belgrade to the country where you live, or the city where you live to Serbia?

I would leave things as they are.

What was the first swear word in Serbian that you taught a local in the city where you live?

I have never done that, but one of the girls I know from Bosnia was teaching one Colombian girl how to say "Napu**š mi se *určine!"

Paprika u pavlaci.
What is the food you bring with you from Belgrade to your current home?

Paprika u pavlaci.

If you had stayed in Belgrade, what would you be doing at the moment?

Who knows that...

Uporedi kulturnu i scenu noćnog života Beograda sa gradom u kojem trenutno živiš.

Verujte mi, nije uporedivo.

Compare the cultural and night life scene of Belgrade with the city in which you live

Trust me, it is not comparable.

Nemojte me pogrešno shvatiti, I dalje volim svaku ciglu tog grada.

If you were the mayor of Belgrade, what would be your progress plan to attract people like you to return?

Fairytales are my specialty, but even my imagination cannot fix this present situation. Don't get me wrong, I still love every brick of that city. But the whole country is in need of a completely new group of leaders.

Jesu. Naučila sam kako da cenim svaku radnu poziciju. Takođe, sada znam da kada upoznam osobu Iz svoje zemlje ne moramo nužno postati prijatelji.

Have your views of the world changed since you moved?

They are. I have learned how to appreciate every job position. Also, now I know that if I meet a person from my country doesn't necessarily mean we have to become friends.
